Stars Gotta Land Somewhere is a FREE art exhibition of 4 different We Are This City projects at the Sunport International Airport.

The Sunport has teamed up with We Are This City to hang a body of artwork from 4 different collections, consisting of 166 pieces, made by 500+ local community members and 150 New Mexican artists.
The pieces are unique as they all have a community layer to them. The first collection is titled ABQ Balloon Blast, where the background of each piece was made by the community throwing 300 balloons of paint at the pieces at 4th and Gold and on Civic Plaza at two different events. After the community threw the balloons of paint the pieces were cut down to size and distributed to local artists to use as a canvas.
The second collection titled Hands On ABQ, is a collection of work where the community put 500+ hand prints on the pieces at Breaking Hearts and at the Harwood Arts Center, which were then cut down and distributed to artists.
The third collection is made up of pieces where community members walked around in paint using old Nike shoes to make their footprints on the pieces and then again distributed to local artists as canvasses.
The fourth and final body of work was apart of TEDxABQ stage design where the community painted stencils on the pieces and 10 local artists incorporated their work live on stage during a TED talk.
There will be free parking for the opening in the credit card parking lot (please see parking map posted in the event or use the directions below).

1. Head South on Girard Blvd. from Gibson.
2. When the road turns right take a left to stay on Girard Blvd..
3. Turn right into the Credit Card parking lot.
4. Take a ticket and on exit the gate will be open.
Directions from Sunport Blvd.
1. Take exit 221 for Sunport Blvd. and go East.
2. Stay in the “Arrivals” lane.
3. Look for the “Credit Card” parking signs.
4. Continue past “Arrivals”.
5. Take your first right to continue on Sunport Blvd..
6. Take your first right onto Girard Blvd..
7. Turn right into the Credit Card parking lot.
8. Take a ticket and on exit the gate will be open.
Directions from Yale and Gibson.
1. Head South on Yale from Gibson.
2. When you get to where Yale turns East, stay in the “Arrivals” lane.
3. Look for the “Credit Card” parking signs.
4. Continue past “Arrivals”.
5. Take your first right to continue on Sunport Blvd..
6. Take your first right onto Girard Blvd..
7. Turn right into the Credit Card parking lot.
8. Take a ticket and on exit the gate will be open.
